Points of interest:
Cais da Ribeira, Porto, Portugal.
Bridge: Dom Luís I. The Luís I Bridge is a metal arch bridge that spans the Douro River between the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia in Portugal. At the time of construction its span of 172 m was the longest of its type in the World. The total length is 385m and the arch measures 172m in length and 44.6m in height.
Boat: Rabelo. The Rabelo boat is a traditional Portuguese cargo boat, that for centuries carried out the task of transporting people and goods along the Douro river. Native from the Douro region, it might have its origins on the V Century when the suebi lived in Douro region. In the XVII century, Rabelo’s boat grew bigger. it does not exist in any other place of the World and its history is closely linked to the production and trade of the Port Wine.
